An Intriguing Murderous Rain of Missiles and Drones

This Middle Eastern war raises the question of where to invest in the military to ensure its offensive and defensive capabilities.
If a massive drone and missile attack can be launched from 2000 km away, saturating developed air defenses, then the military strategy question is whether missiles can launch a massive saturation attack as an artillery innovation without needing a specific launch base, i.e., the Navy, Air Force, or even the Army.
Furthermore, it doesn’t directly involve military personnel who may be 2000 km away.
So, the final question is: can missiles and drones be a form of dispersed cannon fire raining down on advanced defenses, coming from long-term upgrades in air, naval, and military artillery?
Where does the military power sit now? In the capacity to launch a rain of drones and missiles?
This raises questions about expensive, highly technological equipment, which can significantly lose ground in both attack and defense, easily overwhelmed by the simple saturation of cheap drones.
That’s something, huh...
